RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk of choice
- 2 cups Seva maple water (you can use more plain water, or coconut water instead)
- 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
- A couple of handfuls of walnuts, roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- A good pinch of salt
- Butter, for greasing
TOPPING IDEAS
- Banana
- Walnuts
- Chia seeds
- Blueberries
- Cacao nibs
- Peanut butter
METHOD
Grease the inside a slow cooker with a thin layer of butter, to help prevent sticking. Place all ingredients in the slow cooker and give them a stir to combine. Cook on low for 8 hours. If possible, occasionally give the mixture a stir to stop it burning on the sides.
To serve, divide mixture into bowls and add desired toppings. Leftover mixture will keep in a container in the fridge for a few days. If you need to reheat, add a small amount of milk or water to the mix and reheat for a couple of minutes in the microwave or on the stove.
