Chai-Spiced Porridge with Stewed Fruit and Walnuts

I love Chai. I also love porridge. Combining the two was definitely a success! A happy way to start the day!

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2 Chai teabags
  • Stewed fruit, for topping (I stewed apples and berries with a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and honey)
  • Natural yogurt, for topping
  • Crushed walnuts, for topping
  • Cinnamon, for topping
  • Honey, for topping

METHOD

Combine the oats, water and tea bags in a small pot over a medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until most of the water has been absorbed. Add the milk and continue to stir occasionally until the oats are creamy and delicious! Remove the teabags and give a good squeeze to release all the flavour.

Pour the oats into a bowl and top with stewed fruit, a dollop of yogurt, sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.

Serves 1
